Autumn
Mood
(Li Ching-Chao, 1084-1156 AD, China) Seeking, striving, shivering, shuddering, suppressing, saddening, sobbing . So hard to fall asleep, when cold weather returns after a sudden warming. Two or three glasses of wine warm me up, but no match for the piercing cold of the night wind. The geese flying overhead bring back somber memories – such a familiar scene. No one cares to pick the mums. They are left on the ground, scattering and withering. Alone by the window, It’s the darkness I can’t bare as I’m patiently waiting. The plane tree leaves are misted by drizzles all day. By dusk they start dribbling. At this very moment, how can a simple word “sad” describe my feeling? |
