Verses of Song Dynasty with English Translations

This website contains selected verses from the Song Dynasty of China (960-1279 AD) and my attempt to translate them to English. Currently there is only one piece. But it's a start.

Autumn Mood (Li Ching-Chao, 1084-1156 AD, China)

Seeking, striving, shivering, shuddering,
suppressing, saddening, sobbing .

So hard to fall asleep, when cold weather returns
after a sudden warming.

Two or three glasses of wine warm me up,
but no match for the piercing cold of the night wind.

The geese flying overhead bring back somber memories ?
such a familiar scene.

No one cares to pick the mums.
They are left on the ground, scattering and withering.

Alone by the window, It's the darkness I can't bear
as I'm patiently waiting.

The plane tree leaves are misted by drizzles all day.
By dusk they start dribbling.

At this very moment,
how can a simple word "sad" describe my feeling?

Embroidered Curtains Uphanging (Liu Yong, 987-1053 AD, China)

On the phoenix decor the embroidered curtains are uphanging.
The beast knockers on the red doors are frequently shaking.
The sun rises two staffs high over the flower shed.
Spring night sleep feels lazy, as I lie restless on the bed.

Sweet dreams disappear like flocs in the swift wind.
Sorrow lingers, denser than fragrant wine of the thickest kind.
The  yearning for Intimacy is hard to fulfill,
As time goes by and wasted still.
