Program notes

The moving tune of this piece was inspired by a famous Chinese poem of the same name, which was written by Ju-Yi Bai during the Tang Dynasty of China (618-907 AD). In this piece, the composer tried to express imageries in the poem by sound-shaping. The designs of various structural forms were motivated by the syntax and imagery in the poem.
